Facets of Joy: Bonds of Unity and Friendship in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
$14.95
In 2005, Sofia Cavalletti, along with the executive committee of the International Council of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, known as the Consiglio, decided to send  Foglietti, "Little Memos," to communicate news of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd from around the world. In Italian, the word Foglietto literally means a memo, a leaflet, a slip of paper, what we might even call scratch paper. These Foglietti were to be a means by which the international community of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd would communicate observations on the materials (such as changes, considerations for working with the children and the children’s work), news of general interest from the various atria and associations (and, thus, regarding the development of the catechesis), and further reflections on the 32 Characteristics of the Spirit  the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, and, most importantly, instances of the responses of the children.  The aim of the Foglietti was, above all, to intensify communication among the international community in the hope of strengthening bonds of friendship and unity.
The Foglietti are very personal for the catechists. What is written in them are a kind of “family matters”.  They are written in a style that is not as scholarly and professional as other writings published about CGS.  Thus, they have not been considered appropriate or of interest for the general public.  However, they hold a great deal of the history of the development of CGS in a very personal way.
