  • Tampa Bay Prays II
We have compiled a prayer book of over 50 prayers for the second time after inviting our extended Franciscan Center family to share a favorite prayer with us. Now, our little prayer book, Tampa Bay Prays II, is available to buy online.
Tampa Bay Prays II is our newest version of the beloved 2005 Tampa Bay Prays, which celebrated our 35th anniversary. And for our 50th year, we are happy to offer this treasure to the community once again. This collection of special prayers illustrates the impact of the Mission of the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany to build community in Tampa Bay and how it has grown into a vibrant spiritual family over the last 50 years. It offers joy, laughter, inspiration, and insight from diverse faiths and backgrounds.
We hope you enjoy this book and choose to use it in your conversations with God. May the prayers in this book help bring you blessings and peace.
All proceeds from the sale of the booklet go towards supporting the mission of the Franciscan Center.
The price is $10.00 per book plus $4.25 to cover shipping and postage costs ($14.25)
If you would like to order multiple books, you only need to add the $4.25 shipping/postage cost one time.  For example: 6 books equals $64.25.

  • Conscious Contact Women's Retreat- It's All About Connections
    Thursday, July 8 ~ Sunday, July 11, 2021
    Thursday, 5:00 p.m.- Sunday, 11:30 a.m.
    Sister Cathy Cahill, OSF
This Conscious Contact retreat will explore some of the connections that are vital for growth in recovery.  If we are to improve our consciousness of God's contact with us, then we need to be aware of all our connections- with ourselves, with others, and with the world around us. Note: The theme and description for this retreat, scheduled for July of 2020, was chosen in July of 2019, just after the retreat on Simple Abundance. Since Covid-19 we have become deeply aware of just how important our connections are. A timely topic, indeed!
For women in any 12-Step Program
**Following the CDC guidelines, we are limiting attendance at this retreat.**
Fee: $350.00 per person (If you wish to make installments, please contact the Center)

  • Cultivating Buoyancy for Ourselves & Earth via Zoom
    Thursdays, July 8 and 22, 2021
    2:00-4:00 p.m.
    With Jennifer Comeau
“We may not have chosen the time. But the time has chosen us.” -- John Robert Lewis
Everywhere you look, you see it coming. We are in an unfolding ecological and planetary crisis. And yet, have you observed in yourself or others the tendency toward overwhelm, shutting down or dissociation at precisely the time when creative collaborations are vital?
Recognizing this unique moment – the most transformative era in human history and the stakes for life on earth – Jennifer Comeau hosts a workshop that provides tools to give you buoyancy amid looming uncertainty and great loss. A complement to workshops targeted toward specific solutions (e.g. Renewable Energy, Afforestation, and others referenced in EnRoads’ Climate Solutions Simulator), Cultivating Resilience for Ourselves & Earth focuses more on the psycho-social-spiritual aspects – who we are being – in these times.
Comeau shares insights of global leaders and visionaries and explores how we as individuals and communities can adapt new capacities with tools that center and guide us in a time when so much is changing so quickly. The workshop is intended to catalyze broader action in the world by bringing together diverse and intergenerational voices.
A skilled facilitator, Jennifer encourages all community members to attend, promising, “There’s room for every perspective, and everything belongs, even the awkward bits.”
This trauma-informed program (two 2-hour zoom sessions) helps participants answer questions such as:
    1. What skills are needed to keep our internal equilibrium when we are “triggered” by someone whose beliefs are vastly different from our own?
    2. What radically different tools and strategies will help us (i.e. give us “sea legs”) to dwell in the unknown amid rolling chaos?
    3. What personal habits/choices must change in order to apply nature’s laws of reuse, repurpose, recycle? (Nothing in nature is “new.”)
Fee: $25.00 (two 2-hour zoom sessions)
    Price: $25.00
  • Mandala Monday in July via Zoom
    Monday, July 12, 2021
    10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.
    With Margie Jervis
We’re happy to bring back our popular Mandala Workshop led by artist Margie Jervis from Creative Cauldron in Falls Church, VA.  During this program, you will enjoy discovering and creating a Mandala through a guided drawing experience.
We just love Margie's simple teaching approach. She bases her course on connecting the building blocks of nature's own pattern designs, to fundamental visual art concepts. This is a hands-on, no-art experience-required class, and simply a fun and relaxing way to immerse yourself in beautiful nature-inspired design.
Students have shared with us how they truly enjoy their new perspective and awareness of nature they carry with them from Margie's classes.
