Painting Like a Scholar
  • Painting Like a Scholar - July 8th
Please pre-register your group with an appropriate time slot. We will only have 1 group per half hour to ensure the safety of all participants!
In the 1800s, students at the Litchfield Female Academy combined the study of botany and art by painting their landscape. Challenge yourself to closely observe nature and create artwork based on flower, insects, and more in the Meadow, just like students at Sarah Pierce’s Litchfield Female Academy!
Participants are requested to bring their own paints. Paper, water, and inspiration will be provided!
To protect the safety of attendees and to eliminate overcrowding, we are requiring attendees to pre-register for an arrival time. Visitors are required to wear a mask at all time, to stay with their family groups, and to stay at least six feet from other groups.  All equipment used by visitors will be thoroughly cleaned between groups. In the event of rain or inclement weather, the program will not be held.
