Making' Bacon...Cups!

with James Webb
Virtual One-Part Demonstration Workshop using the Zoom Platform
October 2nd, 2021 | 1:00-3:00 p.m. ET
Do you like Bacon? …Or how about bacon imagery? This workshop will introduce folks on how to create clay slab surfaces with visual depth on them by using glaze and mason stains, as well as, how to assemble a wet slab onto a thrown base. Learn to compile several layers of colored slip, carve into layers with trimming tools, and finally to use the trimmings to arrange, attach, and stretch onto slabbed porcelain to create deliciously exciting imagery! This workshop will utilize high fire materials in a gas kiln, but these techniques are also just as applicable to lower temperatures.
