Virtual Two-Part Demonstration Workshop using the Zoom Platform

July 3 & 10, 2021 | 4:00 -6:00 PM ET

Students will learn how to utilize the basic functions of vinyl cutting software to translate hand drawn designs from their sketchbook into digital files that can be cut on a vinyl cutter and then used for a vinyl resist for etching aluminum. The workshop will focus on basic methods for making the jump from the hand drawn to digital file, the use of a vinyl cutter, and how to transfer vinyl to aluminum for aluminum etching.  I will share a non-toxic etching solution for etching aluminum that is readily available using hardware store materials.  Participants will create lightweight surface embellished aluminum etchings that can be incorporated into jewelry designs.
