First steps into whittling or Carving for Beginners INTERNATIONAL KIT

with Yoav Liberman
Virtual Two-Part Demonstration Workshop using the Zoom Platform

December 4 & 11, 2021 | 12:00 - 2:00 PM ET

This hands-on whittling class will give the student the basic tools to carve three dimensional shapes. Our projects will be realized with a carving knife (and a set of small rasps). We will practice sharpening techniques to give our knife the proper edge to cut wood. We will learn and be trained in the common carving procedures, knife handling and cutting techniques to safely form an animal or two out of Basswood. In addition, I will demonstrate the use of a bandsaw as a tool to assist in the preparation of wood for carving. If time permits we will also discuss design ideas for those who intend to extend their carving horizon beyond the available educational and commercial carving  patterns.

KIT INCLUDES a set of basswood blanks which will allow you to shape and carve a mouse, a whale, and a dog!

This kit will allow you to participate even if you do not have the ability to cut your own blanks with a bandsaw.
