The Painted Pot: Line, Color, Imagery

with Bede Clarke
Virtual One-Part Demonstration Workshop using the Zoom Platform

November 13th, 2021 | 4:00-6:00 p.m. ET

This course will focus on building a personal approach to working with imagery (representational and abstract) on clay pots.   We will cover earthenware clays, slips and glazes, the use of colored slips/engobes for painting on pots, and approaches to imagery.

Technically this workshop is based on simple and direct methods: a red earthenware clay, a white slip, homemade colored underglazes and a clear glaze.  Within these simple materials and processes we will look to discover the potential of a curious and sensitive dialogue between the potter, the pot, line, color and imagery.
