Workshop Description:
In this workshop, students will create molds to be used in combination with wheel-thrown and handbuilt forms made out of clay. With press molds made of plaster, the pottery wheel becomes a tool to assemble the pieces. Students will explore creating a variety of utilitarian forms, from cups to vases, and discuss how to use carving, inlay, and terra sigillata as surface decoration to make each piece unique to the maker.
Session runs May 15 - 16, 2020
9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. daily, open studio hours on select days.
Tuition includes lunch on the first day and registration. Does not incude materials or lodging.
