Sorry - Event is Full or Item is Sold Out
Tampa Bay Watch will conduct a workshop on the Florida Microplastic Awareness Project on Tuesday, January 21, 2019 from 5:30-7:30 PM at Tampa Bay Watch Marine Center, 3000 Pinellas Bayway S, Tierra Verde, FL 33715.
A part of our mission at Tampa Bay Watch is to maintain and preserve our beautiful estuary; and one of our major concerns is marine debris. Often overlooked, microplastics is one of the most impactful forms of pollution. In an effort to increase awareness of microplastic presence, the Florida Microplastic Awareness Project (FMAP) is engaging volunteers throughout the state in sampling and analyzing local waters for plastic. Come learn about facts of plastic pollution and the effects on the environment at Tampa Bay Watch. This workshop will include an informative talk and sampling training using scientific equipment. Participants will hopefully leave feeling inspired to be a part of the solution and get involved. Click here to read more about FMAP.
*Training limited to 25 people. Must be 15 years or older to participate.
