3-21-20 Great American Cleanup at Grandview Park kayaker
Tampa Bay Watch is recruiting 8 volunteer kayakers to participate in the Great American Cleanup in partnership with Keep Pinellas Beautiful at Grandview Park on Saturday, March 21 from 9 AM – 12 PM. The Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup is the nation’s largest community improvement program which takes place annually during spring in an estimated 15,000 communities nationwide.
The address of Grandview Park is 3734 E 6th St, St. Petersburg 33701. This is a land based cleanup with the majority of volunteers needed to walk the sites to pick up trash to prevent marine debris, but we are recruiting a total of eight kayakers.
Information for registered volunteers:
  • You'll need to wear clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting wet and dirty as the majority of the trash is found within mangroves/marshy areas.
  • Volunteers are encouraged to wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts
  • Please remember to wear shoes that tie to your feet, like old sneakers or water shoes.
  • Please bring a water bottle to fill up and carry with you. As an organization, we are cutting out single-use plastics and encourage you to do the same! While we WILL provide coolers to refill your water, we will NOT be providing plastic water bottles or any form of disposable canteens.
