Application/Renewal for Membership as an AFCM Company Member

I wish to apply for membership to and/or renew my current membership of the Australian Festival of Chamber Music – North QLD Limited Trading as : Australian Festival of Chamber Music. I acknowledge and agree that if I am a current member of the company, by submitting this form I will be giving the company written notice of resignation of my current membership and at the same time be making application for new membership so my current membership can be renewed for next year and my details can be updated in the records of the company.

 

The Constitution of the Australian Festival of Chamber Music North Queensland Limited provides that the liability of a Member is limited to $20 in the event of the Company being wound up.  The Board may in its absolute discrestion accept of reject any application for membership. 

 

The Australian Festival of Chamber Music Donations Fund is listed on the Register of Cultural Organisations maintained under siubdivision 30-B of the Inceom Tax Assessment Act 1997. The AFCM Donations Fund charitable status is Deductible Gift Recipient 1 (DGR1). Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.

Becoming a Member of the Company

Supporters and Friends with an active interest in how the Festival is governed may apply to become Members of the Company itself if they so desire.

 

Being a Member of the Company carries with it the following rights and legal obligations:

  • To attend and vote at general meetings of the Company
  • To stand for election as a Director
  • To elect or remove Directors
  • To receive and consider the Annual Financial Statements prepared by the Company’s auditor
  • To view the Register of Members of the Company
  • To pay an annual Membership fee as determined by the Board
  • To provide changes of contact information to the Company
  • To contribute on the winding up of the Company, if necessary, to a maximum amount of $20.

In accordance with the Constitution, the Company membership year commences on 1 January and concludes on 31 December
