In a few brief moments, the world that we knew has been transformed. The events that have transpired in our country - in our own community - have created a climate unlike any we’ve seen before. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, and as recommended NJ state protocol, The Boys & Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic, has had to make the very difficult decision to temporarily close our child-care programs until this crisis passes. While much remains to be seen, there is one certainty during this time: the children and families in our community need – and will need - us now more than ever.
During times of crisis, scarce resources become more scarce, especially in the communities that suffer from poverty. Our Club mission is and always has been to be a resource our community children, to provide academic guidance, healthy habits instruction, and access to caring adults that help motivate GREAT FUTURES. Despite these current challenges, we are just as committed to remain as valuable a resource as we can be, even though our physical doors aren’t open.
Donations are being accepted to help bring emergency resources such as "BGC@Home" curriculum packets, household items, and healthy snacks to the children and families of Paterson and Passaic.
The famous Fred Rogers once said “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping”. We are committed to being just those helpers, and our gratitude to you, our support network, for all that you have done, and all that you do to help bring Great Futures to Club youth in Paterson and Passaic. Thank you.
