2020 FOOD PACKAGING EVENT
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR 2020!
We are so excited to be able to work with Lakeland Community Church and Kids Around the World to host the 2020 Food Packaging Event!
It will look a little different this year due to ongoing COVID-19 precautions so please read carefully. This year there will be two ways to serve:
Serv@Home volunteers will pick up materials and ingredients from Lakeland Church on Wednesday evening, December 9th, and pack the meals at your place and pace. All meals and supplies will be returned to Lakeland Church on Friday, December 11th. Volunteers will receive their designated time slot for both pick-up and drop-off to minimize wait times. Please have an empty car or vehicle for pick-up as materials are bulky!
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS VOLUNTEERED TO PACK MEALS FOR 2020. WE HAVE REACHED CAPACITY FOR ALL SHIFTS AND KITS.
VOLUNTEERS WILL BE CONTACTED WITH CONFIRMATION INFORMATION.
IF YOU ARE STILL INTERESTED IN BEING INVOLVED, FINANCIAL DONATIONS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME. CWI.ORG/DONATE
THANK YOU AND STAY WELL!
Serv@Home is a great way to be involved if working in a larger group does not feel like the best choice for you and your family/group.
Volunteers for the Serv@Home project will be sent an email with the specific time on Wednesday, December 9, for you to pick up materials and supplies to package meals at home. Supplies include 2 50-pound bags of rice and 2 50-pound bags of lentils, tubs for storage, the vitamin and vegetable packets, plus measuring, bagging and sealing equipment. In general, a family of four can package the alloted meals in about an hour.
You will also be given a specific time to drop everything off at Lakeland Church on Friday, December 11. Please follow all schedules and guidelines to make this a safe and smooth experience! To see what it is like to Serv@Home, please click on this link - https://vimeo.com/showcase/7241333
Volunteers for the Pack In Person will be sent a confirmation of your shift starting time and a reminder to bring a mask. Hairnets, gloves and hand sanitzer will be provided. Social distancing will be enforced and tables will be spaced 8 ft apart. Groups of 4-8 are recommended, although individual volunteers will be accommodated to the best of our abilities. Thank you!
