Empowerment Through Action Form
Hillsdale will identify 150 students who are from historically underserved groups of students and first generation in their family with the possibility of going to college. Once students are identified, we will group students based on grade, gender and similar background. Once grouped, students will receive a group mentor. The group mentor will meet with students once a week for one hour, thirty times over the course of the year. Group mentors will also check and review grades at the three and six week marks. Each student in the group will have the opportunity to participate in a meaningful extra-curricular activity of their choice. Each student will have the opportunity to receive a summer job after their 10th grade year from a local business who is a community partner supporting Hillsdale Empowerment Groups. Each student will receive academic tutoring and support.
Hillsdale is now accepting donations to support Empowerment Through Action.
