Uŋči Maká Wóabdezapi | Recognizing Mother Earth: A Wakan Tipi Center Celebration and Ceremony

Indigenous People's Day, Monday, October 11th
4-6PM at Wakan Tipi/ Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary
Join Lower Phalen Creek Project in celebrating the first phase of construction for Wakaŋ Tipi Center at Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary. This event will begin with Dakota song and dance exhibitions followed by oration from organizational leadership and elected officials who have worked on this project. We will close with a land recognition ceremony guided by Lakota elder, Jerry Dearly, as we collectively thank Unči Maka (Mother Earth) for all she has given us while setting our intentions for cultural healing at this place.
