Tour Request Form

If your group would like a tour of The Restoration Center, located at 601 N. Frio in downtown San Antonio, please complete this form. We provide tours on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday or Thursday of every month. Tour participants must be 18 years of age or older. No photography is allowed in any treatment areas while touring CHCS facilities and a confidentiality form will be required of each person taking the tour. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your tour time.

As soon as possible after your tour date is confirmed, we ask that you provide the names, titles (including licensures/credentials) and organization/agency name for each person in your delegation.

 

Often, the schedule includes a working lunch. We will be happy to coordinate ordering a box lunch. We ask that you pay for lunch for your participants as well as the staff who will be presenting during the lunch hour.   • The Crisis Care Center is a walk-in mental health clinic that’s always open, with onsite direct care staff including: Psychiatrist and/or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor, Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed vocational nurses (LVN), and Caseworkers.

  • 16 bed crisis residential and respite facility for men and women focused on providing critical coping skills to sustain functioning and reintegrate in the community utilizing a recovery model to live a self-directed life, and strive to reach their full potential.

  • The Crisis-Respite Residential Center provides a brief period of rest and recovery to families who need temporary placement to rejuvenate from the daily challenges that come with caring for a child with mental health needs. Qualified mental health professionals tailor services to the child’s specific needs and keep the child on his/her on-going recovery program.

  • Jail diversion program is designed to offer a treatment alternative in lieu of arrest to public intoxicants by providing a medically safe environment utilizing motivational interviewing techniques to engage the individual and offer direct access to treatment.

  • The Center’s Residential Detoxification Unit (Detox) is a licensed, accredited 28-bed facility offering medical oversight and recovery support for people withdrawing from addictive substances. Residencies are typically 5-7 days, but will vary depending on an individual patient’s symptoms. Detox aims to help residents complete a safe withdrawal from alcohol and drug abuse, encourage them to continue substance abuse treatment, and motivate and empower them to develop a healthy lifestyle.

  • The MOMMIES Program is a team of expe­rienced, skilled women helping mothers progress through recovery from addiction. The program focuses on: Personalized meetings with a Patient Navigator who answers questions and guides patients through their pregnancy, Free Baby U prenatal classes, 24-hour OB/GYN Emergency Services at University Hospital (4th Floor; D Elevator). MOMMIES is funded by the Texas Depart­ment of State Health Services (DSHS) and the University Health System.

  • IOP helps people with addiction identify their strengths, achieve stability and regain control of their lives. Intensive Outpatient Services are offered to people battling addiction. Counselors provide intensive outpatient treatment services that facilitate recovery from substance abuse and dependence diagnoses.

  • Opioid Addiction Treatment Services (OATS) is CARF accredited and licensed outpatient narcotic treatment program for people addicted to opioids, such as prescription pain medications and heroin.

  • A true approach to integrated healthcare, the CenterCare Clinic at The Restoration Center now offers primary care medical services to people receiving counseling, therapy, and recovery assistance for substance abuse and mental health disorders.

  • Prospects Courtyard (PCY) provides a safe place to sleep, a portal to medical care, mental health intervention, housing assistance and stability. Peer Support Specialists will show individuals around and help them find the agencies that lead them to productive independence. Prospects Courtyard is funded by the City of San Antonio, The Center and private foundations.
  • In-House Wellness Dorms and Day Treatment-offers a safe, structured environment for homeless, mentally ill men and women which promotes mental health education through groups and individual services with a focus on recovery and trauma-informed services; stabilization through mental health services and medication compliance; assistance with disability benefits and/or job readiness services; transition to independent and stable housing.
  • Veteran’s Services - The Center provides assistance for active duty and veteran service members who are experiencing mental health or substance abuse challenges. In addition to our comprehensive integrated health services, we team veterans with a “Battle Buddy,” a veteran that has completed a comprehensive course to prepare for a peer-to-peer role assisting others. In addition to peer support, The Center also works with the Texas Veteran Jail Diversion & Trauma Recovery Project (TVJDTR), training law enforcement on effective crisis intervention strategies when encountering a veteran experiencing the effects of mental illness.

  • The High Utilizer Program is a supportive, comprehensive, and holistic approach to serving people on their road to recovery. The Integrated Care Team is a dedicated group of behavioral and primary care clinicians that work together to provide the finest integrated healthcare. We changed the way of providing care so that our consumers can change their lives.

  • Therapeutic Justice - is a program to improve, coordinate, and increase mental health services within the Judicial Services.

  • Felony Drug Court – Judge Ernie Glenn

The Bexar County Drug Court program provides intensive supervision and treatment interventions to high-risk drug-abusing offenders who show a genuine desire to break the cycle of addiction.  Participation in the program is voluntary and required participants to enter in an agreement that mandates compliance to all program rules.  The program has an average range of 18-24 months for felony offenders and 12-18 months for misdemeanor offenders.  The vital aspect of the program is intensive outpatient treatment for all participants.  Felony participants will receive intensive outpatient counseling from Elite Counseling.  Misdemeanor participants can receive counseling from various community resources

  • Law Enforcement (SAPD & Sheriff department)/ CIT Mental Health Unit

San Antonio Police Department CIT/ Mental Health Unit - The San Antonio Police Department Mental Health Unit is designed to help those suffering from mental health issues get the treatment they need.

 

Bexar County Sheriff’s Office Mental Health Unit - The Mental Health Unit works closely with the Civil Courts that issue mental health warrants for individuals who are unable to care for themselves and have demonstrated to be a danger to themselves or others.
