Prelude String Ensemble – Beginning string players. Participants should have a basic knowledge of the notes in first position and recognize notes by name for one octave in the appropriate clef for their instrument (Treble for Violin, Alto for Viola and Bass for Cello and Bass). Thursday Rehearsals: 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm
Intermezzo Orchestra – Intermediate players. Participants should have at least one year of experience on their instrument and in addition to the Prelude requirements, have an understanding of rhythms and intonation. Thursday Rehearsals: 5:45 pm - 7:00 pm
Symphony Orchestra –- Intermediate & advanced players. Playing standards are highest for Symphony. Players should have an understanding of intonation, rhythm, dynamics and articulation. Thursday Rehearsals: 7:15 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
You may select one or more of the orchestras/ensembles below. Contact NJIO if you wish to change at a later date.

NJIO needs your family's help in many areas. Your registration fee only covers 25% of NJIO costs. Your family's willingness to pitch in will allow us to continue to keep registration fees reasonable.

Registering in one of NJIO's programs indicates your acceptance of the following:
I agree to follow the rules for NJIO members in effect throughout the year, including attendance and punctuality requirements and placement within NJIO Orchestras at the discretion of the Artistic Director. I understand that I may not be able to participate in all of NJIO’s repertoire because of instrumentation, score or other limitations.
I understand that NJIO is a non-profit organization with limited resources and as a member I will assist NJIO in promoting its mission and with its fund-raising activities. If registered as a Teaching Professional Member, I agree to assist the Artistic Director as requested during rehearsals and performances.
Unless I notify you in writing, I hereby grant and give NJIO the right to use my or my child’s photograph or image (without a name) both singly and with other persons or objects for NJIO presentations, advertising, publicity and promotional purposes which may be displayed on television, film, video, visual, electronic, or printed media.
Release of Liability and Indemnity: As consideration for my (and/or my child’s) participation in activities of NJIO which I understand may entail risks such as injury to persons or property at rehearsals, performances, NJIO events and functions, and travel to and from same (collectively without limitation “NJIO Activities”), I hereby release and discharge NJIO, and its successors, and assigns, its Trustees, officers, agents, and volunteer workers (collectively the “Released Parties”) from any and all liability for loss, injury, or damage that I (he/she) may suffer directly or indirectly as a result of my (their/our) participation in NJIO Activities.
