The virtual portion of this social support training is curriculum-based. You will be required to complete the in-person/interactive portion of this training at a future date to complete PSVa's Social Support Training. The in-person/interactive portion of the training provides sufficient time for interaction, role-playing, discussion, and feedback.
The curriculum includes an overview and information about postpartum depression and related perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), including how to distinguish between the baby blues and PMADs; the definition, value, and types of social support.
The in-person/interactive part of training will discuss how to handle difficult situations and role-playing common issues and support group scenarios that arise when supporting women experiencing PMADs. Dates for these sessions are TBD.
