Below are brief descriptions of the upcoming volunteer opportunities for students, alumni, faculty and staff. Please read the info below and then sign up if you are able and willing to attend.
Tuesday Evening Supper with Catholic Charities
Who and What: Catholic Charities responds to the growing number of homeless and hungry by providing a delicious and nutritious meal to 130 guests every Tuesday night. Volunteers help serve food, pour coffee, and share conversation with guests.
Where: Catholic Charities, St. Vincent Center, 721 N. LaSalle Street, Chicago, IL
When: Tuesdays - see dates below
Time: 4:30 - 6 pm
Number of volunteers needed: There is a limit of 10 volunteers per date below.
For the Catholic Charity events there are limted spaces and are only open to alumni, students, faculty and staff.
Who: Phil's Friends is a Christian nonprofit organization founded by two-time cancer survivor Phil Zielke, who is committed to bringing support and hope to those affected by cancer in the United States.
What: Hundreds of individuals go to Phil's Friends in Roselle, IL every week to pack Care Packages and decorate boxes and cards that will be sent across the country to individuals battling cancer.
When: Saturday, June 10, 2017
Where: 1350 Lake Street, Suite 1, Roselle, IL.
Time: 9:30 - 11 am
Number of volunteers needed: The minimum amount of volunteer for this event is 10 and the maximum amount is 35.
For the Phil's Friends event, children over the age of 5 are welcome to volunteer as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
Please make sure to register each volunteer separately in order for us to keep count of how many individuals will be attending.
