Release and Waiver of LiabilityThis Release and Waiver of Liability (the "Release") is in favor of Save Barnegat Bay, organized and existing under the laws of the State of New Jersey. The undersigned volunteer desires to perform unpaid assistance to SBB and in consideration for the opportunity to provide such assistance, does hereby and for its heirs, executors, administrators, successors, and assigns (hereinafter collectively referred to as the Volunteer) does hereby release, remise, demise, disclaim and forever discharge and hold SBB harmless from any and all claims, demands, rights, causes of action and damages, of every kind and nature whatsoever, past, present, or future, whether known or unknown, specifically including but not limited to the following: (i) bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death, or property damage; (ii): emergency medical services rendered to the Volunteer by SBB that becomes necessary during any period that the Volunteer is performing unpaid assistant to SBB. The Volunteer acknowledges that the performance of its duties as an unpaid assistant to SBB may require participation in hazardous or inherently dangerous activities. The Volunteer hereby expressly assumes the risk of injury or harm in those activities.Medical Insurance: The Volunteer understand that, except as otherwise agreed to by SBB in writing; SBB does not carry or maintain health, medical, or disability insurance coverage for The Volunteer. SBB does not assume any responsibility for or obligation to provide financial or other kind of assistance, including but not limited to medical, health or disability insurance in the event of injury, illness, death or property damage. The Volunteer is expected and encouraged to obtain his or her own medical or health insurance coverage.Photographic Release: The Volunteer hereby expressly grants and conveys unto SBB all of the Volunteers rights, title, and interest in any and all photographic images and video or audio recordings made by SBB while the Volunteer is performing its duties as an unpaid assistant including, but not limited to, any royalties, proceeds, or other benefits derived from such photographs or recordings.Term: This Release shall be effective on the date above first written (hereinafter referred to as the Effective Date) and shall remain in full force and effect for the term of the Volunteers service to SBB.This Release is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the law and shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey. In the event any clause or provision of this Release shall be held to be invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the invalidity of such clause or provision shall not otherwise affect the remaining provisions of this Release, which shall continue to be enforceable.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and if they are under the age of 18, they must have written parental/guardian consent and may volunteer in our Summer Internship Program.
