St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry
During the current COVID-19 crisis, our food pantry is busier than ever. Many more people need food now due to lost wages, medical hardships, or business closings. Many school children who depend on free school meals are left without food.
In addition, we are experiencing a volunteer shortage. Many volunteers have had to cancel their shifts because they are in high-risk groups and must stay home.
Like many other businesses, our thrift stores are temporarily closed and our part-time workers are not needed for their regular shifts.
We are committed to feeding our community in spite of these challenges. We have expanded our food pantry service to meet the increased need, and we have moved to a drive-through model to keep our clients and staff safe. We have asked our part-time employees, many of whom are graduates of our Changing Lives Forever program, to cover shifts at the food pantry.
Increased demand and diminished resources mean that volunteers and financial support are critically needed now. Please consider helping in any way you can, either with a financial donation or with volunteering at SVdP. Thank you for helping us help those who are most vulnerable during this time.
Thank you for your support.
